The Courage Apostolate, initiated in 1980 by Cardinal Terence Cooke of New York, has more than 110 chapters and contacts worldwide. The apostolate enourages a pastoral response to Catholics living with same sex attraction. The Boston chapter works to promote education and understanding and the group is based on personal anonymity.
