Pilot New Media
The development of digital new media has created great opportunities to reach a wider audience. This has led to the creation of Pilot New Media which resides within the Pilot Media Group. In addition to effectively using the traditional print and television vehicles, Pilot New Media communicates through Cardinal Seán’s Blog, the Weekly Email Newsletter, Bostoncatholic.org, and social media. These new media tools are particularly helpful as we strive to connect with the younger generations of Catholics.
-
Cardinal Seán’s Blog : This might be described as the Church in action. Cardinal Seán shares his reflections and experiences, and readers can follow him as he visits Archdiocesan ministries. The blog gives readers a view of the Archdiocese’s work through the Cardinal’s eyes and provides an opportunity for readers to make their voices heard.
-
Weekly Email Newsletter : Every week we email a newsletter that provides updates on Archdiocesan events and issues. If you would like to be added to the mailing list, please subscribe now. Click here now.
-
BostonCatholic.org
: This is the place where all the new digital media comes together. BostonCatholic.org is the official web site of the Archdiocese of Boston, providing information on Archdiocesan offices, parishes, faith resources, Catholic themes, what it means to be Catholic, and much more. The web site highlights stories and programs from The Pilot and CatholicTV. Additionally, The Pilot and Catholic TV have their own websites, which give online access to the many stories and programs they provide via traditional media.
-
Social Media
: Recognizing the tremendous positive impact that the new Social Media Networks have on our society and particularly on our youth, this group has established and manages Facebook, Twitter and other social media accounts for BostonCatholic.org.
Pilot New Media maintains a website that offers resources and information for those who wish to use these new media tools in ministry to more effectively spread the Gospel and do the work of the Church.
