2017-10-25

Start Time:

10:01AM

End Time:

Location:

Archdiocese of Boston, Pastoral Center 66 Brooks Drive, Braintree, MA 02184

Description:

The Archdiocese of Boston has an initiative to promote and educate our faith community about palliative care for people of any age who are diagnosed with serious illness.  (Palliative care is not just about care of the dying!)

We are building informational resources for every parish or collaborative community.  These resources include materials about palliative care and advance care planning, but most importantly, small groups of people (3 or 4) -- human resources! – who will be available in each faith community, who have learned general information about this wonderful service, and can provide parish members who are experiencing serious illness themselves or in their families, information about palliative care and some questions or conversation points that they might talk about with their health care providers if palliative care has not already been discussed.  Also, the resource group would schedule annual presentations with the Archdiocesan office for their parishes.

Registration will be from 9:15-9:45 AM to guarantee a prompt start at 10 AM.

A working lunch will be provided.

IMPORTANT TO NOTE:

Your attendance at this workshop does NOT automatically commit you to being a trainer in your parish or collaborative, but it will qualify you to do so, if you are interested.

RSVP required!!   Please CLICK HERE to register.
