A day focused on the upcoming 2018 Synod on Discernment and Youth Hosted by Assumption College at the Tinsley Campus Ministry Center, 500 Salisbury Street in Worcester, MA on Sunday, October 15, 2017 from 12 noon to 4:30 p.m.
Julie Fertsch, SSJ, Philadelphia, Director of the St. Joseph Worker Program, Taking the cue from the preparatory document of the Synod, will address the theme, Culture of Vocation. A panel of four to six young religious men and women as well as discerners will follow. 
PURPOSE: to present the theme of the upcoming Synod of Discernment and Youth: The Discernment of the Christian Vocation in all its ways called by Pope Francis for 2018, and follow‐up the 2002 North American Vocation Conference held in Montreal Canada where the main theme was “Culture of Vocation” and a call for renewal in the Church’s vocation ministry to all Christians. As a follow-up to the Year of Consecrated Life celebrated by the whole church a few years ago, the focus of the October 2017 meeting will be the vocation of those called to religious life. This event will be videotaped and live streamed on social media through the assistance of the Media Department of Assumption College. Copies of a modified version of the preparatory document, plus discernment tools and listings of religious communities and all sponsors will be available in a print booklet form and on social media.
