Mission
As a ministry within the Office for Lifelong Faith Formation and Parish Support, our mission is to form disciples of Jesus Christ and His Church through our service and dedication to the faith formation leaders of the parishes, schools and institutions of the Archdiocese of Boston.

Goals

  • To accompany pastors, clergy, pastoral teams, lay leaders and volunteers throughout the faith formation process as it relates to youth and young adult ministry;
  • To gather leadership individually and communally, in order to meet, discern needs, and to provide spiritual, pastoral and professional support;
  • To provide consultative services to assist parishes in their development of an effective faith formation team whose mission is to evangelize, catechize and disciple young people and their families in the faith;
  • To research, evaluate and provide the most effective training that models, guides and equips faith formation leaders, and those whom they serve, with knowledge, experience and skills for discipleship and ministry;
  • To create and/or offer local, regional, archdiocesan, national, and international programs and events that compliment the efforts of the parish, and collaborative, to reach, evangelize, catechize and disciple young people.
Connection to Disciples in Mission

Cardinal Seán O’Malley’s vision for the Archdiocese of Boston is that parishes become centers for the New Evangelization.  Firmly believing that young people are protagonists of the New Evangelization, we work to inspire, foster, and support the development of vibrant, comprehensive ministry to the youth and young adults of our parishes.
