On June 30, 2010, Pope Benedict XVI named Bishop-elect Arthur L. Kennedy and Peter J. Uglietto as auxiliary bishops for Boston. A press conference welcoming the new bishops was held at the Archdiocesan Pastoral Center.Bishop-elect Kennedy is currently rector of St. John the Evangelist Seminary in Brighton and Bishop-elect Uglietto is currently rector of Blessed John XXIII Seminary.

May 22, 2010 - Boston - Cathedral of the Holy Cross, Cardinal Seán O'Malley ordains Gregory Vozzo and Daniel Moloney from St. John Seminary in Brighton and Guy Sciacca from Bl. John XXIII Seminary in Weston to the priesthood.

This year it had the theme of "Be Set Apart" and included speakers, service projects, the sacrament of Reconciliation, and a Eucharistic procession through the streets of the North End. At the invitation of the Knights of Malta, Cardinal Seán O'Malley returned to the earthquake-stricken Haiti April 18-20 to visit Sacred Heart Hospital in the remote village of Milot.Cardinal Seán visited in his capacity as a member of the US Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) Haiti Advisory Group, which was created to oversee relief efforts created by the generous donations of millions of US Catholics.

Cardinal Seán O'Malley led the Tenebrae service at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross on Wednesday of Holy Week, March 31, 2010.Tenebrae is Latin for "shadows" or "darkness" and the service includes the prayers of the Divine Office for Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and Holy Saturday. A central aspect of the service is the extinguishing of candles, one by one, as prayers are said.
