The Bishop in the Order of Christian Funerals

Funeral Policy

1. It is fitting when a bishop is present at a Funeral Mass that he be the Principal Celebrant. If he is not the Principal Celebrant at a Funeral Mass, in the Archdiocese of Boston he participates and leads the Rite of Commendation (Ceremonial of Bishops, #175).
