Young Adult Communities

The Faith Formation & Missionary Discipleship team works to support local young adult groups and young adult group leaders.  For information on a particular young adult group in a particular area of the archdiocese, please see the list below.  For information on connecting to the network of young adult group leaders or forming a young adult group, please contact Mike Drahos at mdrahos@rcab.org or 617-746-5751.


 Young Adult Groups In the Archdiocese of Boston
St. Clement Young Adults    
Who: Also known as (historically) SCYA Boston, we are a group of Roman Catholic young adults at St. Clement Eucharistic Shrine in Boston, MA. Many of us are students and young professionals, single, married, or discerning religious life or the priesthood, and have come to Boston from all over the world. Our love for God and each other is vibrant and contagious, and we are constantly welcoming new members. We have about 600 young adult members online and about 800 that regularly attend St. Clement Shrine and St. Francis Chapel.    
What: Gathering regularly for prayer, fellowship, community service, and outreach to other young adults in the Archdiocese of Boston.

Who: A group of 20-somethings in the greater Boston area.      
Where: We gather at the convent behind Sacred Heart Parish in Newton (1321 Centre Street, Newton)
When: Saturday mornings from 9:30am – 12:00pm (twice a month)    
What: We typically begin with some food, followed by a meditation on the Word of God through Lectio Divina, and closing with adoration before our Eucharistic Jesus! We also have an annual retreat in the Fall.

Beverly Catholic Young Adults 
     
Who: We are young adult professionals living and working on the North shore, based at the Beverly Catholic Collaborative Parishes of St. Mary Star of the Sea, St. John the Evangelist, and St. Margaret. We outreach with the various colleges of the Beverly area.    
What: Drinks and Discussion.    
When: Sunday evenings, 7:00pm - 9:00pm.

B.R.I.D.G.E 
(Building Relationships In Discipleship, Grace & Evangelization)    
Who: BRIDGE is a Catholic-based group for young adults, between ages 21-30    
What: Young adults seeking community and faith development.

St. Anthony Shrine Young Adults
    
Who: 20's/30's Boston Young Adults    
What: We strive to provide education, social gatherings and the sharing of faith for anyone in their 20s or 30s. The group is for anyone who wishes to share and learn from and with others.    
When: Social gatherings on the 2nd Sunday of every month. More information on our website.

Juventutem Boston
    
Who: Juventutem Boston is a group for Catholics of ages 18-35 who desire to pursue holiness by tapping into the timeless traditions of the faith.      
What: Our focus is on attending together the Church's traditional liturgy as often as possible.  We also gather frequently for prayer, small pilgrimages, retreats, and social gatherings each month.

Paulist Center Young Adults
    
Who: We are a Catholic community of young adults (18-39yrs old) who are members of the Paulist Center Boston.     
What: We seek to live out our Catholic faith through community, service and spirituality. The Paulist Center's Mission Statement is: Attentive to the Holy Spirit and nourished by vibrant liturgy, we are a Catholic community that welcomes all, fosters healing and reconciliation, and acts for justice.    
When: Monthly Sunday Dinners, 6pm Sunday Young Adult Mass, Retreats and Small Faith Sharing Groups throughout the year.

South Boston-Seaport Young Adults
    
Who:  We are a new and growing ministry in Southie, Fort Point, and the Seaport.  Our desire is to build a community rooted in the Liturgy and dedicated to the service of our local community in South Boston.
What:  A ministry of the South Boston-Seaport Catholic Collaborative, the ministry group serving from McCormack Housing through the Seaport.    
When: We worship together at our collaborative's 7pm Mass. We hold our socials at local restaurants and gathering spaces once per month.    
Where: Our Lady of Good Voyage Chapel -- 65 Northern Avenue in the Seaport, around the corner from the Courthouse Silver Line Stop.

Sovereign Military Order of Malta, Auxiliary Corps, Boston Area
    
Who: The Knights, Dames, and Auxiliary of the Order of Malta (Sovereign Military Hospitaller Order of Saint John of Jerusalem of Rhodes and of Malta) in the Boston Area invite interested young adults (generally ages 25 to 40; must be at least 21) to participate in homeless outreach (“Cathedral Walks” or “Malta Walks”) every other Wednesday meeting at 6:30 p.m. (Labor Day through Memorial Day) or 7:30 p.m. (summer; Memorial Day through Labor Day).  A social hour of fellowship and reflection follows the walk.  The Order in the Boston Area also coordinates or sponsors additional ministries and service opportunities.

St. Columbkille Young Adult Commission
     
Who: The Young Adult Commission (YAC) supports the mission of St. Columbkille Roman Catholic parish by organizing for Brighton’s Catholic young adults social, spiritual, and service events, programming, and opportunities which, at the service of the “new evangelization,” are intended to provide to young adults opportunities to deepen their faith and invigorate their relationships with each other, the wider parish community, the universal Church, and, most importantly, Jesus Christ.

Who: Saint C’s Young Adult Ministry is for parishioners between the ages of 20-40 looking to explore their faith while meeting new people and building community. Our group events fall into three areas: Christian service, spirituality, and fellowship.

JESUS aCROSS the Boarder
    
Who: Founded in 2016, JESUS aCROSS the Border has created a unique platform that promotes and shares information about local Catholic Young Adult groups.  There is one regular event per month.    
What: Adoration, Confession, Praise & Worship, Holy Mass, and Social & Platform for promoting ALL young adult groups.
