Braintree, MA - The Archdiocese of Boston Spring Christ Speaks in the City Lecture series will kick off at the Old State House on Wednesday, March 10, 2010. The Series is an event hosted by the Vocation Office of the Archdiocese of Boston in the heart of Downtown Boston’s Financial Center. People are invited to learn more about and to ask major questions regarding their Catholic faith. The Lectures feature speakers who are recognized for their extraordinary witness to the faith. Lectures are free to the public and a light lunch is provided.

Daniel Hennessey, Director of Vocations for the Archdiocese of Boston. “The spring series is focused on The Year for Priests, established by Pope Benedict, so that we can recognize the indispensible vocation of the priesthood for the life of the Church and the world. It is our hope and prayer that those who attend will be inspired to a deeper love and understanding of the Priesthood. "

- Wednesday, March 10, 2010, Dr. Karen Bohlin, Head of the Montrose School in Medfield, MA, Senior Scholar at Boston University's Center for Advancement of Ethics and Character and Co-author of Building Character in Schools and Great Lives, Vital Lessons. She will speak on: “The Year of the Priest: A School of Virtues For Our Professional And Personal Lives.”
- Wednesday, April 14, 2010, Rev. Daniel Hennessey and Rev. Michael Harrington. Vocation Director and Assistant Vocation Director of the Archdiocese of Boston respectively, they will speak on : “The Parish Priest: Witnessing to the Mysteries of God.”
- Wednesday, May 12, 2010, Rev. Romanus Cessario, O.P. Professor of Moral Theology, St. John's Seminary, Senior Editor of Magnificat Catholic Author and Lecturer, his topic will be: “The Priest: Indispensable Vocation, Irreplaceable Gift.”
- Wednesday, June 2, 2010, Rev. Roger Landry, Executive Editor of The Anchor, the weekly newspaper of the Diocese of Fall River and Pastor, St. Anthony of Padua Parish in New Bedford will speak on: “How Everyone Profits from the Year for Priests: St. John Vianney’s Down-to-Earth Wisdom For Every Catholic.”
