It is the goal of the Pastoral Center to remain open during inclement weather unless travel conditions make it hazardous to get to work. Formation (2 positions) FT and PT, St. Timothy Parish, Norwood Faith

St. Timothy Parish in Norwood is seeking to fill two (2) Faith Formation positions to direct and coordinate programming.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Direct/coordinate faith formation programming for grades K - 12
  • Select curriculum for grades K - 5; 6 - 8; 9-10; 11-12; First Reconciliation, First Eucharist and Confirmation
  • Recruit, train, supervise and support catechists for all grades
  • Plan and coordinate programming calendar for all grades
  • Search and coordinate student service opportunities
  • Plan and coordinate Vacation Bible School
  • Develop and coordinate Matthew 25, an upper grades summer service program
  • Oversee student safety program and volunteer Protecting God’s Children program
  • Oversee collection and reporting of volunteer CORI forms and Code of Conduct forms
  • Update and monitor the budget annually
  • Monitor recordkeeping (attendance; service opportunity sign ups; sign ups for First Reconciliation services and First Eucharist and Confirmation liturgies;
  • Provide a welcoming, nurturing environment and be present at some weekend liturgies

The candidates must be practicing Catholics with at least a Bachelor degree in Theology, Religious Education, Pastoral Ministry or related field, and a solid understanding of Catholic doctrine. Strong written, verbal, organizational, and facilitation skills are required. Knowledge of basic computer programs such as Word and Excel are desirable. The Director and Coordinator, to the best of their ability, should encourage the participation of parents and or guardians in programs that will enhance the religious development of the students and their families.  The Director and Coordinator will work collaboratively with all members of the pastoral staff of St. Timothy’s in a unified effort to implement the Pastoral Plan of the parish to achieve the evangelization goals delineated in the Plan. The parish is currently in the midst of creating a three-year plan and envisions creating more family-based, intergenerational models of formation.

The division of responsibilities and duties will depend on applicants’ level of education and experience, as will salaries.
