The CatholicTV Network to air the Holy Mass for the Opening of the XIV Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops and an extended Notre Dame Sunday Mass on October 4th
 
WATERTOWN, Mass (September 30, 2015) - On October 4, 2015 CatholicTV will air the Holy Mass for the opening of the XIV Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops from the Vatican as well as an extended Sunday Mass from the Sacred Heart Basilica on the campus of Notre Dame.
 
This Synod marks the 50th anniversary of the Synod of Bishops and is to be held October 4th -25th. The Ordinary General Assembly will “continue the work of the III Extraordinary General Assembly by ‘reflect[ing] further on the points discussed so as to formulate appropriate pastoral guidelines’ for the pastoral care of the person and the family (Instrumentum Laboris, III Extraordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops, usccb.org). 
 
The theme of the Synod will be “The Vocation and Mission of the Family in the Church and Contemporary World” and will gather Bishops from all over the world. To view the complete list of Bishops attending please visit this link

To watch the Holy Mass for the opening of the XIV Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops LIVE please tune in to CatholicTV on Sunday October 4th at 4 a.m. The Holy Mass will also rebroadcast at 11:30 a.m. and 8 p.m.
 
Additional change in CatholicTV schedule for October 4, 2015:  CatholicTV has happily aired the Sunday Mass from the Sacred Heart Basilica on the campus of Notre Dame since 2008. On October 4th, the regularly scheduled Mass is expected to run for an additional 15 minutes due to the Notre Dame Glee Club Centennial Reunion. The Mass is scheduled to air from 10 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
