Annual Fund Supports Mission Critical Programs, Parishes, Schools & Ministries
Braintree, MA -- The 2020 Catholic Appeal will be announced in parishes of the Archdiocese of Boston the weekend of March 7/8, 2020.  Commitment weekend takes place the following weekend of March 14/15, 2020. The Catholic Appeal is the annual fund that supports more than 51 central ministries that enrich parish life, Catholic schools and the lives of those who turn to to the Church for assistance.

Cardinal Seán P. O’Malley said, “In this Lenten season of reflection and prayer, we look forward with great hope and anticipation to furthering Christ’s mission to serve the least among us while passing on our faith to future generations. We are blessed with many thriving ministries in the Archdiocese of Boston that allow us to continue this important work and live our faith together.”

Value of the Appeal

Kathleen Driscoll, Secretary for Institutional Advancement, said, “When we live our faith together, we are part of something much bigger than ourselves. We can do great things. The work of the appeal enables us to serve those who turn to the Church for assistance while passing on our faith to future generations.” “The generosity of those contributing to the Appeal has an immediate impact on these efforts,” she added.
The Catholic Appeal funds nearly 50% of the Archdiocese of Boston's budget. The remainder is funded by other philanthropic sources and fees for various services, programs, and resources.
