Organist, (PT), St. John the Evangelist Church, Cambridge, MA

St. John the Evangelist a historic Catholic Church in Cambridge seeks an accomplished organist for weekend masses plus special services, weddings, funerals and choir rehearsals (rehearsals run from September to June). The organist must have improvisation skills in creating transitions, modulations, and communion music. The organist must also be able to provide strong leadership for congregational singing and choral accompaniment.

The organ is a new 3 manual Rodgers Imagine 351M series installed in February 2023. The organist would be responsible for maintaining the organ and pianos. The position includes right of first refusal for all weddings and funerals which are paid separately. The organist reports to one Music Director. All outside musicians must be cleared by the Music Director before being allowed to use church instruments.
