April 16, 2013 - Archdiocese of Boston statement-Cardinal offers condolences and celebrates Mass from the Holy Land for victims*

Archdiocese of Boston statement

Earlier today, Cardinal Sean called Fr. Sean Connor, pastor of St. Ann Parish in Dorchester, to express his prayers and concern for the family of Martin Richard, who was killed yesterday in the bombings at the Boston Marathon.  The Richard family are parishioners of St. Ann’s.  The Cardinal offered Mass this morning from the Holy Land for Martin’s family and all impacted by these tragic events.  Cardinal Sean is in the process of returning to Boston.

At this time media is asked to respectfully refrain from attempting to contact the Richard’s family and parish as the community comes to grips with the enormity of these events.

Beginning today, prayer services and Masses are being held across the Archdiocese for the victims of the bombings.  To view these events please visit http://www.thegoodcatholiclife.com/prayforboston.
