Treasurer (PT) St. James the Apostle, Boston, MA.

The Missionary Society of St. James the Apostle, a Catholic non-for-profit organization, is looking to fill a vacancy, due to retirement, in its business office. The St. James Society raises funds to help the poorest of the poor in South America. Currently we are looking for an experienced Treasurer, in our Boston office. The position is part-time, 3 days per week. Onsite parking is provided.
Ideally, we are seeking to recruit an experienced financial executive, with college education, MBA preferred, who will be familiar with Apple computer system and Account Edge Pro Accounting Software.
Duties: Audits (Outside auditors), Cash Flow, Wire Transfers (Domestic & Foreign) Foreign Currency Exchange, Accounts Payable, Investments, Bank Reconciliation, General Ledger, Journal Entries, Payroll, Account Analysis, Taxes, Bequests, Workers Compensation, Accounting – Mass Stipends/Mission Projects, Lawyers etc.
Coordinate Benefits – Health, Dental, Life, Pension, 401k, Vacation, Sick etc.
Prepare Financial Statements for Board of Directors, the Director, and annual meeting in Lima, Peru.
1099 – for consultants at year end.
Oversee all work in the area of accounting – Preaching, Revenue etc.
Coordinate special projects with the Director.
The position also includes the backup of the business manager for St. Stephen’s Church. This is a separate entity for which the St. James Society assumes the cost of taking care of St. Stephen’s and it is incorporated into the 3 working days each week.
